Many men experience hormonal imbalances without even realizing it. Symptoms might be dismissed as "just getting older," "stress," or even just "being a man." But symptoms like fatigue, low libido, weight gain (especially around the belly), mood swings, decreased muscle mass, and even cognitive decline can all be signs of underlying hormonal imbalances.

Are you ready to have your mind blown? In this article, we’re diving deep into the future of healthcare, where we’re not just treating symptoms but actually turning back the clock on aging and disease.

We have entered a new healthcare era that prioritizes prevention, regeneration, and the science of longevity. To support our clients’ health for tomorrow, we have to meet them where they are today.

This article discusses cell health and how we can use cutting-edge therapies like exosomes and peptides to optimize our well-being.

Health isn’t just a static state; it’s a spectrum. On one end, you’re thriving, full of energy, and feeling amazing. On the other end, aging and disease start creeping in. And let’s be honest, in today’s world, many of us are sliding towards that less-than-ideal end of the spectrum. But what if we could reverse that trend? That’s where the root cause approach comes in, and it all starts with our cells. The body is a constellation of trillions of cells, each powered by tiny engines called mitochondria.

Understanding Cellular Health: The Foundation of Well-Being

As many of you know, at in2GREAT, we address health from a root cause approach. What is at the root of health or disease?

Cell health. Mitochondrial health. Cell-to-Cell communication.

Cells are the unit of life, and what controls and powers the cells?

The mitochondria.

DID YOU KNOW THE HEART, BRAIN AND MUSCLE HAVE THE HIGHEST CONCENTRATIONS OF MITOCHONDRIA IN THE BODY?

Healthy mitochondria produce the energy the body needs to function.

When you have healthy mitochondria, you have an adaptable person who can maintain a healthy state in most environments.  When those mitochondria are humming, you’re in a state of salutogenesis, basically health nirvana. But when they’re struggling, your energy dips, your brain gets foggy, and your body just doesn’t function like it should.

Our cellular parts can wear out over time, causing energy, strength, cognition, metabolism, and immunity to decline. Departure from health and a loss of vitality happen when energy is stuck in flow (energetic stasis), cell health declines, and the mitochondria get stuck in stasis.

Cell Danger Response and Senescent Cells

Our cells are constantly under attack from all sorts of stressors, toxins, infections, and even just the daily grind.

When a cell feels threatened, it triggers a cascade of events leading to a cell danger response or CDR. It’s like a cellular lockdown meant to protect it from harm. However, if cells stay in CDR too long, they can become senescent or zombie cells. It sounds like a bad horror movie, right? These zombie cells refuse to die, secrete inflammatory stuff, and wreak havoc on the surrounding tissues, including other cells. Senescence is often triggered by cellular stress, DNA damage, oxidative stress, biotoxin exposure, and mitochondrial dysfunction. These zombie cells contribute to aging, joint pain, and even cancer.

So, how do we kick these zombie cells to the curb and get our mitochondria firing on all cylinders again? That’s where exosomes and peptides enter the picture.

We are excited to offer new regenerative therapies at in2GREAT, including exosomes and peptides.

First up, exosomes.

Exosomes: Nature’s Cellular Messengers

Think of them as tiny cellular messengers carrying vital information between cells. They’re like the body’s little delivery service, transporting proteins, lipids, and genetic material from one cell to another. This transfer of molecules plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including tissue repair, immune response, and cell communication.

By influencing how cells behave and interact with each other, exosomes contribute to maintaining health and can also be involved in the progression of various diseases, including inflammatory conditions, degenerative diseases, and even cancer.

Exosome Therapy

At in2GREAT we administer exosomes through a few different ways, including through an IV infusion. This allows a concentrated dose of exosomes to enter directly into the bloodstream where the exosomes can flood the system systemically and move towards areas in the body of priority needing repair.

This delivery system allows exosomes to effectively reprogram the recipient cells by altering their gene expression, stimulating the repair and regeneration of damaged or diseased tissues. Basically, exosome IV therapy is like giving your cells a supercharged dose of these messengers, jump-starting your body’s natural healing abilities.

And the best part? They’re super safe for most people!

Now, let’s talk peptides.

Peptides: Your Body’s Personal Trainers

There are more than 7,000 known naturally occurring peptides. Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. They act as signalers and modulators and are part of the body’s communication system, fine-tuning your body’s functions. They help bring intelligence; they even impact certain genes.

Peptides are a targeted and specific approach to healing, repairing, cellular energy, and system support. Peptides bind to receptors on the surfaces of relevant cells and instruct the cells on what functions to perform. By targeting specific peptide receptors, peptide therapy can enhance cell-to-cell communication, regulate hormone production, stimulate tissue repair and growth, and modulate immune responses. But get this: Peptides also have a pleiotropic effect, meaning they can trigger multiple effects systemically throughout the body. We can even use peptides to turn off aging genes and turn on anti-aging genes! I like to think of peptides as the body’s own personal trainers, targeting specific areas to promote repair, regeneration, and healing.

Our bodies actually make peptides. Some well-known peptides include insulin, oxytocin, NAD+, and ghrelin. The production of peptides varies from person to person, and the number and quality of peptides produced by the body decline with age. When the body needs peptides, it will start to break down tissues, muscles, and bones to get the peptides it needs. This is not a good thing. This breakdown is what leads to degeneration and aging.

This is where peptide therapy comes in!

Peptide therapy mimics your body’s own peptides and helps restore the number of peptides and improve their ability to elicit particular responses at the cellular level. This is how we can use targeted peptides as a fantastic treatment option for many conditions. Whether you’re dealing with digestive issues, chronic inflammation, cognitive decline, low immune function, fatigue, and poor stamina, or you want to turn back the clock on aging, there’s likely a peptide that can help.

A Personal Side Note:

I want to share a personal health story with you. Historically, I was a well-trained Ironman triathlete. However, in 2021, I faced significant health challenges due to Lyme disease, mold illness, and potentially lingering inflammation from COVID-19 or whatever we want to call it. Unfortunately, this culminated in a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) that extended the entire length of my leg, along with a large pulmonary embolism (PE) in my right lung. Over the past 4.5 years, I have undergone a slow and humbling health experience characterized by chronic pain, brain fog, neuroinflammation, disrupted sleep, myalgia, tissue degeneration, and severe fatigue.

I’ve come to realize that all the symptoms I’ve been experiencing are associated with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). My mitochondria seemed to have been in hibernation mode. I actually confirmed this when I ran a GENIE profile on myself, and the data showed mitochondrial hypometabolism was at play! (of course, this is just part of the picture)

In light of this, I’ve recently started using peptides and exosomes in my healing protocol and have been amazed at how much better I am feeling in just a few weeks. It’s as if these therapies are like personal trainers for my body, helping it get back into shape and empowering me to reclaim my health and performance.

I perhaps had been so accustomed to feeling unwell that I didn’t remember what it was like to be free from chronic pain. However, recently, I’ve noticed increased resilience in managing day-to-day stressors and more energy to tackle significant projects at home, and I’ve even begun running again. It feels like I’m giving my body exactly what it needs to optimize its healing process, and I can actually envision training for my next triathlon. It’s an exciting journey, and I’m ready to embrace it fully!

Peptide Therapy: A Targeted Approach

Peptide therapy is one of the most cutting-edge modalities available, and, like any therapy, peptide treatments may not be suitable for everyone and are not typically the first course of action.

At in2GREAT, we prioritize optimizing foundational health first, including sex hormones, thyroid function, adrenal function, blood sugar regulation, diet, lifestyle, and gut health. Essentially, we address the health and function of every system in the body.

The past 5 years have really challenged our approach to health-care for patients, and it has become very apparent we have to ask better questions and think differently than ever before, simply due to the fact so many of the patients coming to see us simply are having a much harder time getting the healing momentum initiated.  So, I had to go to the drawing board and work on coming up with a program and options to provide patients with an approachable format that could help them get the healing and regenerative momentum initiated.  Peptides are considered a great tool to aid in making this happen if stacked and administered correctly.

Peptides can assist with various health concerns, including immune enhancement, brain restoration and regeneration, gut healing, muscle and joint regeneration, weight management, sleep restoration, sexual health, and most importantly, mitochondrial restoration. They can be beneficial for conditions such as leaky gut, brain fog, ADHD, depression, anxiety, memory issues, learning difficulties, chronic pain, auto-immune conditions, and most importantly, mitochondrial hypometabolism. This makes them particularly helpful for conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dementia, post-stroke recovery, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and concussions, just to name a few.

When it comes to using different peptides for different purposes, it’s not just the peptides that matter – it’s how they’re administered. There are several methods of administering peptides, such as orally, topically, nebulized, as a nasal spray, intravenously, or via injection. This versatility allows us to customize treatments according to individual needs and conditions.

Safety and Monitoring

While the benefits and uses of exosomes and peptides are extensive, it’s important to approach their use with informed caution and under the guidance of a qualified practitioner trained in regenerative and peptide therapies. A professional will monitor your health and lab biomarkers, as there are potential side effects or risks associated with peptide therapy.

Lab values must be monitored frequently as healing progresses to ensure the correct dosage is administered. It is possible to use too much or too little; the goal is to find the optimal dose or the “Goldilocks” zone—just right for your individual needs.
